Reports & methods
Transparent about how we test.
Analytical results are only meaningful when the methodology is understood. Every report states the method that produced it and the accredited partner laboratory that performed it.
What a methodology page contains.
Every method used on your project — whichever accredited partner laboratory performs it — is documented against the same structure, so technical reviewers can compare like with like.
Analytical method
The technique and instrument class used, with the method identifier.
Target compounds
The exact parameter list. Compounds outside the list are not reported.
Sample volume
The volume required, and the container and preservation used.
Units
The reporting unit for each parameter, stated explicitly.
Detection limits
The lowest concentration reliably distinguishable from zero.
Quantification limits
The lowest concentration reliably reportable as a number.
Quality controls
Blanks, duplicates, spikes and control samples run with the batch.
Relevant standards
Standard methods or references the procedure is based on.
Accreditation scope
The accreditation held by the partner laboratory performing the analysis, where applicable.
Results without the confusion.
One document, structured the same way every time, whether it covers a single tap or a product testing programme.
For product testing, comparison reporting sets before-filtration and after-filtration values side by side with the calculated reduction for each parameter.
Sample information
Identity, type, collection details and receipt condition.
Test methodology
Method per parameter, with references.
Analytical results
Values with units and detection limits.
Reference values
Included where a relevant published value exists.
Before/after results
Paired influent and effluent values for product testing.
Percentage reduction
Calculated per parameter, bounded by detection limits.
Technical observations
Anything that affects interpretation.
Analysing laboratory
Which accredited partner laboratory performed the work, and when.
Analysis is performed by accredited specialist partner laboratories; London Water Testing is not itself a UKAS-accredited laboratory. Testing does not in itself constitute regulatory certification or approval of marketing claims, and accreditation is stated only where it has been confirmed.
