How we work

One point of contact. Accredited analysis.

London Water Testing is an independent water testing and verification company. We manage the whole testing process for you and have the analysis performed by accredited specialist partner laboratories.

Analytical instrumentation inside an accredited specialist partner laboratory

We manage it. Accredited labs analyse it.

We do not operate our own laboratory, and we do not pretend to. Instead, we act as your testing partner: defining the question, handling the sampling and logistics, and placing each analysis with a specialist laboratory equipped for it.

Analysis is performed by UKAS-accredited partner laboratories where applicable. That gives you access to specialist testing for drinking water, heavy metals, PFAS, microplastics, microbiology and filter performance without compromising on quality — and without you having to coordinate several laboratories yourself.

From the first enquiry to the final report, you deal with one team. We stay accountable for the process, the paperwork and the clarity of the result.

From question to report.

Five steps, one point of contact throughout.

01

Enquire

Tell us what you want to know about your water or product.

02

Plan

We agree the parameters, methods and sampling approach with you.

03

Sample

Containers and instructions supplied, or sampling attended by us.

04

Analyse

Analysis performed by accredited specialist partner laboratories.

05

Report

We review, compile and explain the results in one clear report.

What we look after.

Test selection

We help you decide what actually needs measuring, and at what sensitivity, before anything is sampled.

Sampling

Correct containers, preservation and written sampling instructions — or attended sampling where a project requires it.

Logistics

Chain-of-custody paperwork, transport and temperature control, so samples arrive within their holding times.

Laboratory coordination

We select the right partner laboratory for each parameter class and manage the work on your behalf.

Quality checks

We review blanks, duplicates and control data returned with your results before anything is issued.

Results and reporting

One clear report covering every parameter tested, with units, detection limits and the method used.

Interpretation

Plain-language explanation of what the numbers mean, and what they do not mean.

Follow-up testing

Repeat, comparison and trend testing arranged under the same conditions for comparability.

Specialist testing, arranged for you.

Each parameter class is placed with a laboratory equipped and accredited for that work, so you are never limited to what a single laboratory happens to offer.

Drinking water

Chemistry, physical parameters and general water quality for tap, filtered, bottled and private supplies.

Heavy metals

Lead and a defined metals suite by ICP-MS, with first-draw and flushed samples compared where useful.

PFAS

Target-compound analysis by LC-MS/MS at nanogram-per-litre reporting levels, with contamination-controlled handling.

Microplastics

Membrane filtration with microscopy, and polymer identification where the method supports it.

Microbiology

E. coli, coliforms and other indicators, handled under temperature control and prompt delivery.

Filter performance

Paired influent and effluent sampling under controlled conditions, analysed by a single method.

Trace-level work.

PFAS and microplastic analysis are limited as much by sampling and contamination control as by instrumentation. Both are treated as part of the job we manage for you.

Prepared sample vials for trace PFAS analysis at a partner laboratory

PFAS

Nanogram-per-litre reporting with isotope dilution and dedicated consumables, performed by an accredited specialist partner laboratory.

Microplastic particles retained on a filter membrane under laboratory lighting

Microplastics

Defined size ranges, procedural blanks and polymer identification where the selected method supports it.

Accreditation, stated plainly.

London Water Testing is not itself a UKAS-accredited laboratory. Analytical testing is carried out by accredited specialist partner laboratories, and we state the accreditation status that applies to the work on your report.
